    Default Noisy TRA001?

Just purchased a second hand TRA001

It's in excellent condition. To make sure it wasn't abused I took out the bushes and check them over. They are almost full length, so little use as the seller said. It's nice and clean. I can see it wasn't cleaned with compressed air to hid something....

What concerns me is the noise. It's not grinding or chewing anything up internally, but compared to my Festool 1400 router, it's as rough as guts. It's also bloody noisy.

Turning it on and letting it run does not impress me with its "precision" label. It like listening to a home built v8 with a cracked piston compared to the smooth hum of a Ferrari.

    Is this "normal"?

Perhaps I should post a video.

Noisy as in bearing noisy which means a bearing change. Or noisy as in electrical which might be a bad sign

Sounds like that is why it was sold,my guess is the previous owner knew the bearings were shot and decided to move it on.
Get it fixed and you should have a good tool for many years to come.

I have one of these and they are noisy units. Impossible to say from here but there may be nothing abnormal
