Any saw up to 9 1/4 " will be okay, I used a Makita for many years and then switched to a Triton. Just make sure that the saw doesn't have too much arbor float.
As to how to adjust the saw to make it accurate to the fence do a search as I've posted my method only a couple of days ago to someone else's query.
BTW I hope you made sure that everything is there as spare parts may not be available for the MK3, as it is now superceded by the WC2000.

Almost any circ saw will work in the Mk3, I used a little 7¼" B&D for quite a few years. But a 9¼" and it's extra 1" of cut makes a BIIIIG difference, so start off with a 9¼"er if you can.
The Triton Circ is designed to go under table, particularly for the WC2000 but it's still the bee's knees under the Mk3. So my advice would be: if you can afford it go Triton all the way!
