Thread: Set up a triton router

Hi trevor

Its hard to see anything in those photo's

there should be a "T" attachment protruding from the alloy body that the winder handle engages with

it may be possible they have supplied an older model router without that feature

It's the Triton 265709 TWX7RT001 Router Table Module , that i'm trying to set up to find out if the triton router is set correctly in that .Try these photos from the end DSC01076.jpgDSC01078.jpg

Hodgo , Bertr , i didn't realise you ciould get router tables with winding handles on the top ,i had ancient Elu . I'm trying to figure out why the winding handle isn't lowing or raising the router bit . The Triton 265709 TWX7RT001 Router Table Module was ready set - up , all i had to do was fix the triton router . did you release the locking lever before trying to adjust height . If not you may have stuffed up the worm drive that drives the height adjustment.

A closer up shot from below of the handle going through the table top and attempting to connect to the router may help so we can see what is not aligning.
Going back to post #6 maybe I'm misreading your problem. Maybe you have got the handle to connect and it's just not moving the router up or down. Does the router wind up and down using the handle on the opposite side to the switch?

Suggest taking the router out and making sure the winding handle works out of the table. Then it's just a matter of aligning the router winding shaft with the hole?

Silly question 1: Did you remove the black plastic router baseplate as per the instructions?

Silly question 2: Have you fitted the router the wrong way round? It can be fitted 180 degrees out....

My main question is was it set up properly , thats why the winding handle ain't working and the locking handle is open . I didn't try the winding handle before i loaded the router . The handle should go through the table, past the router baseplate via a notch and engage with the bottom of the height winder mechanism. I suggest the first thing you do is actually remove the router. It’s really simple; you’ll see two black knobs on the router base. Undo them both until there is about about 4-5mm of thread showing, then push them straight up and rotate the whole router. It’s a bit like a big bayonet fitting.

Once it’s off you can then investigate properly.

If its engaging and turning the "T" connection that I mentioned in my earlier post and nothing is happening, there has to be something more sinister within the router itself, ie. stripped or very clogged adjusting mechanism

Its hard to make any assumptions with your photo's
