Yes, sorry to be abrupt. What we need to see is a view of the winding handle underneath the table so that we can see its position in relation to the shaft on the router that it's supposed to connect to. A close up under the table. So far your shots have been from a long way away (apart from the handle on the glove, which we are already familiar with).

With the locking lever open the router itself is as far down as you can get , i take it the winding handle should still work from there . Trevor .

how about posting some decent close up photo's that show us what the actual problem is
one other thing to consider is : does the rack and pinion and micro adjust function correctly from beneath the table?
the router could be in plunge mode as well

i would respectfully suggest that the winding mechanism has been forcefully used with the locking lever tightly locked and thus either the worm or the rack have had the teeth stripped. i had this happen on our mens shed triton.
cheers

my money is on the notion that the router is in "plunge" mode
but based on previous input from the OP we may never know

The locking lever was open the router itself is as far down as you can get it is open , the winding handle hasn't moved or connected with the router bit holder any time at all . Trevor .

Hmmm, you still haven’t answered a very pertinent question from Hodgo; does the micro adjuster height winder still work from under the table? The height winder handle engages with the bottom of the micro adjuster so if that is working so should the handle.
Next question from me; I notice on your last photo that you have the graduated collar on the winder handle pushed down to near the end of the shaft; you do know that this slides up and down? Push it all the way up the shaft to the handle end so the handle can be inserted all the way through the table.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Nettlewarbler,
We aren't sure how familiar you are or are not with the operation of the router itself. Suggest you take the router out and send us a photo of the handle with the turn mechanism in it, so we can see what model you have, and we can talk you through how it should be working. So far we have only seen photos taken from the other side of the county.

I'm 71 and I don't mind getting on my knees for a good photo
While my setup may look different to yours, its exactly the same in principle.
1) Top of table with winder access hole.

2) Winder coupling on router (3)
IMG_2148(1).jpg
3) winder handle (4) through hole in table and router coupling (3)
IMG_2150(1).jpg
4) Winder handle (4) and router coupling (3) engaged
IMG_2151(1).jpg
5) Router lock (1) and micro adjust knob (2)
IMG_2147(1).jpg
If all is well with the internal threads, with the router lock (1) released (turn anti clockwise), your should be able to rotate the micro adjust knob (2) or rotate the winder handle, and the router should wind up and down.
Hope that helps
BTW.
Make sure the handle lock is OUT

not IN
