Default Sliding Triton WC2000 Plate Assembly

I have a silver-coloured mounting plate that came with something or other from Triton and I have never used it. It looks like it would suit a router. It has those black plastic guides like on the WC2000 mounting plate but I've never figured how to use it.

Does anyone know which Triton machines can be fitted to this plate or how to exploit the thing?

BTW I have my Triton TS permanently mounted in my WC2000 and only open the set-up to vacuum and reset blade alignments once or three times a year. So I'm looking for some ideas/jigs to exploit the thing-a-me-gig.

I would say you have the original cast alloy saw chassis. This does not work with the hight winder so some one would have up graded to the pressed metal one and you have been left with an obsolete spare part. All the router mounting plates with black sliders are black not silver.
If I am wrong, photo and more description and I may have another guess

    Attachment 158945
If it is this one, It is for the router or jigsaw.

Can be used with router in overhead mode, similar to the saw in the crosscut. Can't be used with router upside down or the jigsaw as this also needs the router table top.

If it is the one number 12 it is the old style saw mount, not good for any other use

    Attachment 158949
If it is this one it is the NEW style saw mount and much better than the original.

Yes, Brian, it is the black one in your first picture. I was mistaken about the colour.

It's the 158945 which according to your information is for the Triton router or jig-saw. I can't imagine how I'd use my jig-saw on the WC2K.

BUT what my original question was all about is what I could do with it if I say mounted my Triton Router or Jigsaw on it now, given that it'll never get used in the WC2K. It's such a nice pretty little black plate with screw clamps, surely an enterprising woodworker has thought of some contraption to use it with.

I briefly considered using the router & plate on some sort of mini home-made guides for flattening warped workpieces. Any ideas?

The one you have was a mounting plate for the Mk3 router table (doesn't work with the new 200 model.

The Router mounted centrally in it. If used with a jigsaw the blade went through a slot between 2 of the wingnuts, again used in the Mk3 router table. and the blade stuck up through the table for a crude scroll saw

Some were bought as spares so that the router could be mounted on one and the jigsaww on the other.

You can use it with the 2000 table saw with a router mounted. Set the table in cross cut mode and the router over the top, that way you rout across the timber, similar to the cross cut mode on the saw. Although a straight edge as a guide would be easyier than fiddling with the table height

Can't think of any other real use for it

I've used mine for routing dadoes repeatedly, which works quite well. in a pich, i've also used a flat router bit with curved up edges (dish cutter bit, I think) to reasonably surface/flatten a bit of timber or laminated boards.

    Cheers,
    Dave
