Default Table Height in Crosscut mode

Is this common to other WC2000 tables?

When I convert to crosscut mode I have to raise the height of the table above the marks on the side which correspond to the 9 1/4 saw. If I don't , the saw doesn't sit in the groove. It is slightly higher and so the timber doesn't get cut completely through. I come up to the 70 mark and it's fine. It's not a problem, I'm just curious but has the height winder kit got anything to do with it ? I can't see why it would.

    Gumby...

Have you got a Hgt Winder kit fitted?? I have and I needed to raise the table by a carfully measured "poofteenth" above the 9 1/4 mark - I guess it is direct relation to the depth of cut you loose when it is in bench mode - just upside down...

I had the same problem on my setup, and I'm not using the height winder kit (yet). I thought it was odd, but just raised the table (about 3mm) and carried on. Now I'm curious. Is it an assembly problem (which would almost certainly have other implications) or a manufacturing/printing problem?

That would tally up with mine. The saw markings are at about 76mm and with the height winder attached I went up to the 70mm mark. It sits well in the groove at that point so I'd reckon around 3mm is the initial gap.

    Yup - me too.

Also - I didn't do the plastic height winging thread much good when I tried to get the blade back up to max height in table saw mode after doing a lot of tenons.

There was a whole lot of sawdust trapped between the top of the dust bag and the under side of the table where the upper part of the dust collector sags when the saw is lowered. The height winder just tries to compres this and strips the thread!!!!

Geeeeezzzz Badger.....How many tenons did u cut or how longs it been since u cleaned the great orange box!!!!!
The top cover only compresses the sponge padding and there is heaps of room between the rest of the dustbag top and the underside of the table.
Take it easy on the tool and it'll do it's job easy

I seen guys strip the plastic hex drive in the winder because they don't push the handle in completely ( possibly because its full of sawdust) MAINTENANCE

That leads me to another small problem I have. The hole in the dust bag for the winder cover doesn't sit directly under the hole in the table. I can line it up but it moves and makes the winder hard to fit. i then find that the cover starts to turn as it catches on the winder as well.

    Default CrossCut mode

When I fitted the height winder I had to raise the table up to the 70mm marks.
Problem with this is now the max thickness you can cross cut is thinner. I had to lower the table on the weekend to fit some 90mm posts in to cut rebates. So now I'll have to recheck the table for level etc.

Just get your scissors out and make the hole bigger

These marks are just an initial reference and not set in stone, adjust the table so that the blade just sits in the groove.

If after doing test cuts the cuts are not square don't alter the alignment of your saw, instead you can adjust the left or right side of the table to square up the cut. The blade will then right for table or crosscut mode.
