Triton 2000 Height Winder Problem - Saw Chassis Movement
Hello
Can anyone help with a solution to a way of ensuring the Triton 2000 Saw Chassis with height winder kit installed remains locked in place with the Triton 2000 Height Winder Kit. I have had mine for a few years but always have a slight problem with the saw not definitely locking in place under the table due to the somewhat flexible chassis hook that clips onto the tube of the height winder.
I find that under load when ripping a heavy piece of timber the saw chassis is prone to being pushed backwards towards the saw guide as the plastic hook under the table has a certain amount of "give" compared to the old chassis hook that used to lock in under the table . This had to be removed to install the height winder assembly kit.
Was toying with the idea of placing wooden blocks in the slide channels behind the saw chassis to positively stop the chassis moving at all during a cut, but was wondering if anyone else has the same problem with a solution.
Regards
Gary

Have definitely not noticed this problem. Perhaps it depends on where the clip is placed laterally?

I think I have the clip placed right where it is supposed to go so that it more or less engages with the slot under the table , but it still shifts a little if you apply pressure to the saw chassis .
Maybe my clip needs replacing ???

I have just removed my tabletop and the clip and fitted the clip in various places along the channel - there is no slop, and I can't envision how your clip could be damaged. I suspect you may have some loose screws on your height winder or chassis - or movement of your saw within the chassis.

Hi. I purchased two little aluminium window locks, (not the key type), they just have these thumb screws and I fitted them in the channels and it stopped the chasis sliding backwards. Unfortunately not before I cut right in to my riving knife.
