I've had a Triton MK3 for around 10 yrs and last week was the first time I wanted to set up a router on it, the router mounting plate has been sitting under the bench all this time. I ran into a problem and after spending hours internet searching I came up with a solution myself and just wanted to pass on the info in case any one comes up with the same issue. The mounting plate I have is I believe a JA 150 I have the older one with different clamps but the plate itself is the same as the current one.
Not ever having used the a router on the Triton I believed the mounting plate I had was a universal type that could be used for over head routing as well as mounting the router so the cutter protrudes through the table - after all there was a hole in the top table just for that. I soon found the top table would not sit in place as the router mounting plate sat too high - a few hours of internet searching and I came to the realisation that the mounting plate was designed for over head routing only which meant I would need to lay my hands on the correct router table top.
Looking at the mounting plate I had I could see that it sat around 19mm too high, so I drilled a new set of holes for the plastic slides further up towards the flat section in fact almost right on the bend I ended up drilling two holes very close together (just about touching) so I could file out the metal between the holes and so duplicate the slot for the plastic slides. The whole operation took around 45 min, once complete I found that I had to file sides of the mounting plate as the sides bulge slightly at the fold line making the mounting plate a tight fit in the Trinton aluminium runners, with the modification it can be used for overhear or under neath routing.
