Stuart, The 3 in one looks great but do you know if the Spindle Table can tilt & what the stoke distance of the spindle is...Triton Site doesn't mention either

    Stuart,
I downloaded the Triton catalogue and this mentioned the universal work centre.

Sorry- no more info on either, but I should have this info by Wednesday next week, as I am hoping to get to play with one (or at least see it up close & personal). I would hesitate to say that the spindle table does not tilt, as it is a cast top.

Cool - glad they put it in the catalog! It is actually listed as a Universal Workstation (I know, slight difference). I haven't seen the current version, but the previous one was for mounting power tools such as an SMCS, so I expect that is the direction the current iteration is heading. There are a few cheap ones that have appeared on the market recently, so hopefully the Triton one can find ways to improve the design/features etc.

Hadn't seen the new catalog till just then - has been a long time coming! Like the new format- matches in with the new website design.

Hope the hardcopy version when it becomes available is waterproof (or at least drool-proof).

I thought so too, and in my case, toy making. I know there are oscillating sanders on the market already, but I'm guessing this will be closer to my price range......and it's orange!!!

The 3-in-1 sander looks very similar to the unit recently introduced here by Timbecon. If it is from the same stable, the spindle table should tilt. Hopefully Triton/GMC will to the right thing with Quality Control.

Yes they will not be sold in Europe as Scheppach is strong here and the local Triton people confirmed it.

Excuse my ignorance, but what would a "Universal Workstation" be?

Is it a fancy name for a tool stand?

    Default Samples

I have samples of all of the above tools in the office here.

    Can confirm some questions.

The 3 in 1 sander. Spindle does not tilt. Has variable speed, oscilating spindle which I haven't measured, but seems around 30mm. Don't quote me on this.

This baby is not a portable unit. Weighs around 60Kg, so once it has a home, it will stay there. Advantage of the weight is that it will stay where it is. Dust collection looks good, as it can be directed to each part of the sander individually.

As for the large thicknesser, I think it is a pressed steel infeed support. This model has electric height adjustment. THe one I saw was on a stand.

It looks like one of the advantages of the GMC takeover of Triton is the access to other mufacturers. At the German show, Sheppac had a blue steel cutter. Looks like a simple but effective arrangement for both companies and both groups of customers.

The 300mm band saw table tilts both ways, has variable speed and the stand is fairly mobile, thanks to a retracting handle. THe fence can be removed from anywhere on the table, without having to slide it off the end. Fence can be used on either side of the blade and looks to be well designed for clamping jigs and stop blocks to.

Can you send the thicknesser and spindle sander over - I think I need some intensive reviewing of this gear as well

Does anyone have a release date or RRP of the 300mm bandsaw?

Any news yet on a release date and RRP for the spindle sander combo?
I see there is a similar item on Timbecon's website but it is worth many coin, considering the price of a stand alone spindle sander.

And they're all so sexy in orange. One day soon my wife's going to see the credit card bill and I'm going to be a single man again. Has anyone else done the thicknesser-moulder thing before?
