I have the same problem with a Kreg plate. But maybe a bit of lateral thinking is all that's needed. The shaft on the winder handle is 10mm diameter. The slot to engage the winder mechanism is 3mm wide. So why not buy a length of 10mm aluminium round bar, cut a slot in one end, and fit it into the original winder handle? The only thing you'd not have is the scale that lets you count your turns, and I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to cut slots for that to fit.

I just got some 10mm alum tube from the local hardware, made the slot - works fine.

Now adding an old rusty hand brace to make the winding even easier.

Cheaper and easier than getting the extrusion.

Yep that was going to be my last avenue to make my own from scratch.......I think that may indeed be the way to go and I can design and 3D print the winding handle to fit.

thanks for all the comments and suggestions.....

    cheers
