Default new router table fit old 2000 workcentre?

I have a 1998 Triton 2000 workcentre which takes the older router table ( no mitre guage, and front and rear fence adjustment for planing edges).

I am looking at the new Router Table ( (RTA300) . Will this fit my existing workcentre, or do I have to fork out another $200 for a Triton Router stand?

    regards,
    Jill

Have a look at "Compatability" near the bottom of this page.

Many thanks Ray. However, just looking at the new table today, the fittings are not the same as the old table, so I am a bit suspicious of the compatibility.

Would anyone have had any experience to prove me wrong?

Quite why you're suspicious of the actual manufacturer's own documentation I can't imagine.

Download the "Workcentre Compatability Chart" from the "Product Documents" section of this page if you need extra proof.

I have a Triton 2000 of about that vintage - it didn't have the hole for the height winder handle - and I have fitted both the second (?) model pre-2000 router top - it has the hole for the older pivoting biscuit joiner and the current router top with the BIG rectangular hole running along one side, and can interchange them as required.

If you don't need the new finger jointer then the old table will do everything the new one will, its possibly flatter than a new one, can handle bigger piece of wood without getting stuck in the hole.....The advantage of the 'new' model is the improved hold down for the router. Parts are available for the older router top if you can find someone to order from.

Professional Wsoodworkers Supplies are bringing out a very large wood/composite top to fit a regular router plate & fence onto the Triton base - just click their ad/logo at the top of the page. They already have a smaller one available, which may be what you are looking for.

thanks Ray - call me a doubting Thomas, but I could not see how the new one fitted , and did not want to buy one and go throguh the hassles of having to return it. I don't believe everything I read, as models do change, and I am trying to mate a 10 year old workcenter to the latest router table. But I am nearly convinced

    kind regards,
    Jill
