    Default Triton slides

    Need some help please.

I went to assist a friend today install new slides on his triton 2000 workstation as they had been damaged. I have a standard pop rivet gun that I thought I would be able to use to install them, alas the rivet heads would not fit into the tracked area and the rivet gun would not fit into the bottom of the track to be able to fit flush. Is there a specialist tool that is required?

I can't say that I have experienced the problem first hand, but a little thinking time has led me to suggest a possible solution:
(It would probably require pop rivets with an extended shaft : not really sure if they are readily available) slip a couple of small washers (or small machine nuts, or maybe a short length of small bore metal tube/pipe) onto the pop rivet shaft before inserting into the pop rivet gun; this should then allow the head of the rivet to go down to the required position while the head of the pop rivet gun remains above the track
Hopefully I have explained my thoughs clearly enough for you to understand what I am thinking of.

Pictures please. If you are talking about the track that the mitre guide runs in I have replaced this but need a reminder with pics. Can have a look at mine in the morning and see if I remember how I did it.
