Warped saw table on Triton Mk3
Hello, this is my first post after a year or so of lurking and learning from Woodwork Forums. A while ago I inherited my late father's workshop and tools and I'm gradually getting things in order (he neglected it in his last years and I was living overseas) and integrating his tools into my collection.
Dad left an old Triton Mk3 outfit (workcentre, router table, extension table), lots of spiders' webs and rust patches. The circular saw has disappeared, but a $40 bid at the local auction house produced a shabby Metabo that turned out to be excellent under the skin. The diecast saw carrier was badly warped but I straightened and reinforced it (Araldite and aluminium bar).
So far so good, and I'm set up for casual ripping. Next, I was going to tackle the rusty patches on the surface of the saw table, rub down the powdercoat, prime and epoxy to get a reasonably smooth and consistent surface all over. But checking with a straight edge shows that the table is far from flat (both when clipped onto the workcentre and when free).
So the question is, is this something that can be fixed by adjusting the reinforcing framework under the table - and if so, are there instructions anywhere?
TIA,
John
PS I'm in Albany, WA

gday and welcome to the forums.
I vaguely remember having to do something similar on one I had many moons ago after a small accident with a car being parked a little to aggressively in the shared garage workshop.
The top had been bananarised
I used a couple of heavy beams as a flat then clamped and hammered straight. it came back quite flat with just a few dents which didn't affect the use.
Sorry no special techniques or instructions.
