It might be an old one - but it's a 2000

A lot of the parts used in the 2000 were originally used in the MK3. The saw slide carriage is one of them.

Because the 2000 top is of a different design, and they were still supporting the MK3, they had to include the plastic bit to make it fit. A lot cheaper option than to have two different saw slide carriages.

While I haven't had luck locally - Workworking Centre Shop in the UK have the missing nylon catch is stock and are sending one over. Looks like option 2 of bodging up a nut and bolt set up won't be necessary ) and I can also avoid option 3 of buying a whole new chassis.

Well package arrived from the UK yesterday.

Despite my efforts to identify the parts I required looks like I've received a 'WCA409 Chassis hook' for the new model and not the 'WCA266 Saw Slide Chassis Nylon Catch' as ordered.

I'm not optimistic about my chances of sourcing one now - might be back to the ' retrofit bolt option' now.

    Bummer.
Have you let them know? It was probably finger trouble in dispatch.

So I let them know they'd sent the wrong part (and sent a copy of a duke's photo - thanks) and they very promptly said they'd send the correct part.

The only problem is that they've sent me a photo of three nylon parts and asked me to confirm the one in the middle is the one i'm after.

To be honest none of them look right to me - the one on the right is what they sent, can't work out how the one on the left works and the one in the middle looks nothing like the one in a duke's photo.

I'm wondering of the one in the middle could be fitted by drilling some holes in the chassis?

Well, the one on the right is for a modern series 2000 sliding saw chassis, and will work on both a 2000 and a Mark 3, because of the screw slots.
The one on the left is for fitting a router table top to a series 2000 workcentre. So its not that one.
Have they given you the part no. for the middle one? That's what you need to give us.
    regards
    Chris.

Does this look like your saw chassis? This is from the Tool Spares Online site, and is an older saw chassis for fitting to a series 2000 workcentre.

I have a spare one of the hook on the right of your picture, which I removed when I upgraded to the height winder. Taking a look at it I can't see why it would not work on your chassis, as long as you got it in the right horizontal and vertical positions. The horizontal position is indicated by the cast metal socket in your chassis, and I think you need to saw that socket off, as long as that would then leave you enough chassis thickness to screw the hook to.
The vertical position will be a matter of using the slots in the hook. You need to be able to just engage the saw chassis, so that it won't slide backwards towards the switch end. To disengage you raise the workcentre top.

    Hi,
Send them the picture of the complete chassis and the one of the separate part.

A Duke, Surely he doesn't have a picture of the part?
He has to assume it's the same as your picture.

    Hi Chrisim3,
He has both pictures from my post and another of the chassis from his original post.
They can be saved and printed or attached to an email.
