It must be a slow day. There has been times where I've waded through pages and pages of crap. In fact I don't even have a saved search because it has proven so fruitless in the past. And it's hard to filter because there are so many different items listed with veritas in the title.

Just try for "plane";
I ended up with zillions of the flying kind & toy varieties .

You blokes obviously have more fun on Ebay than I do. I only get "tools", and not the sort that would go with your search results

My eldest daughters "Mother in law" tried "baby shower" for a pre baby party for my pregnant daughter to get some ideas
There are some sick sites out there, thats why I stick to the forum

I have never seen a Lee Valley plane on ebay...
probably because those that own them love them to much to get rid of themYou can never have enough planes, that is why Mr Stanley invented the 1/2s

It's true. I occasionally do a search just for interest and never come across LV planes. I will always find a few Lie Nielsen, and these usually sell for as much as they would cost new! Lots of room here for speculating.

Ln on eBay AU
Derek, the only LN stuff that I have seen for a while is being sold by "The Tool Exchange", which is ran by Stuart Minuskin & Hans Brunner. They no longer are selling "new" tools, rather concentrating on collectables and vintage users. Thus they are selling off their remaining stock of LN etc and are getting good prices, market value?
(How I wish they would go cheap(er))
Matt, I sypathise with your results for serching for veritas woodworking gear, it seems that once it is brought, it stays brought.Pat

I recently "won" a LN #60-1/2 block plane offered by them on our local eBay. It was brand new and in its box. I was the only bidder and got it for about $100 less than retail. If had been on USA eBay, it would have gone for the retail price (or better!).

In my neck of the woods I see a trend in how people treat tools. Veritas planes and such are treated like what they are - tools. The trades men and hobbiest buy them and use them. I see lots of guys and gals using them - more so than cheap stanleys and footprints (I'm never seen a muji yet!). Therefore they very seldom think of selling them. Lie Nielsen seem to be treated more as a commodity (not sure if thats the right word) and something to brag about. The buyers hold onto the box and rarely if ever use them in hopes that they will increase in price. I often see LN selling on ebay for the same as what you could buy it for on their website and sometimes even more. I've even contacted a few buyers to ask why. I've yet to get a response back. I guess they don't like it when someone points out that they weren't to bright.
I regularly search ebay for tools - almost daily. I have about 40 different searchs saved to dig out specific tools and such. Most of the seaches have two key words to search for and at least 10 filter words so I can get to exactly what I want. Veritas tools in general don't come up very often. I've seen maybe 10 items this year.
