Where to buy
Hi out there to all other wood plane enthusiasts, I have been trying to get hold of some screws for Stanley planes. Mainly frog retaining and all other screws on the plane.
Can some one point me in the right direction to where I could buy some in Aust if possible.
Cheers

The Screws.
Hi Gunado,
I'm not sure of where you are, but in Vic. we have a Hand Tool Preservation Assoc. Aust.
Now I'm thinking you may have something similar where you are, & could be a lot cheaper.
Google something like HTPAA.
That is the Vic. one, but there must be more there somewhere.

Keep your eye open at garage sales and flee markets for damaged planes no one else wants and buy them for parts or if you know any manual arts teachers. they some times dump broken or damaged tools. A mate of mine while dumping stuff, saw some old very short chisels and broken plane and spokeshave bits at the dump and picked them up for me. They were all painted with colours to match them to a tool set like they do at schools. The trick is to get them before they become landfill, but I would imagine they would have to be dumped as part of some education department policy.
