    Default Another mystery tool.

    Hi all,
A friend has this tool and we would like to know what it's for. The hinged handle can be locked in position with the pin. It's about a foot long overall.
    Cheers,
    Geoff.

Ok, wild guess here - square post mounts in a bench hole, clamp holds 2 pieces of guttering to be soldered, handle pulls top surfaces together snugly for soldering. ❓❔❓

Yes agree, square post in dog hole in a bench or anvil hardy hole we thought. I also wondered if there may have been a corresponding die to mate with the one on the end of the screw, gone missing, but no evidence of that. Unfortunately I don't have it here. The die on the end of the screw is about an inch wide.
    Cheers,
    Geoff.
