Charles Hayward book
Hi all. In my recent wanderings on the internet I stumbled across this treasure. I am sure I'm not the first to do so but I havent seen anyone provide a link to it.
PDF: How To Make Woodwork Tools by Charles Hayward
Enjoy!

Hi MA,
Thanks for the down load link which I followed.
I have a hard back copy of this title and a few others by Mr Hayward,
Just plain and easy to follow in all aspects...

Hi Matt, Paul, Orraloon and Graham. I have seen this book advertised on Ebay for over $1000 AUD. On 2 separate occasions! Just working out if I can justify all the printer ink and paper to make my own "hard" copy. Lots of great projects inside it.

Technically I think that is illegal due to copyright laws, many moons ago in a far off country(Uk) I was paid to chat up chiks, while working behind the counter of a local Photocopy shop for six months.
An we could only ever copy 10 percent of a book if brought into us.
I was a little softer on the rules than others tho[emoji6].
Cheers Matt.
But I’m just being picky [emoji6]

Hi MA,
You could print your own book but, I would keep an eye out for when a copy shows up.
Below is a pic of one of my other books from Mr Hayward for less than $12
Graham.

Hi Graham. I bought a copy of that for about the same price a few weeks back. Love the way he writes.

Coyright is a funny (perculiar) beast. Apparently the laws were changed in 2005, but this was between the US and Australia.
"Calculating the copyright term for a given work can be complicated because copyright legislation has changed over time. For example, 70-year copyright terms came into effect in 2005 when the Australia-US Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) amendments were made to the Copyright Act. Prior to 2005, terms were generally 50 years. But, the 2005 changes were not applied retrospectively or to government publications, therefore, to calculate the copyright status of older works, it is necessary to determine whether or not copyright had expired by 2005."
A fuller description is here:
How long does copyright last? | National Library of Australia (nla.gov.au)
Also there may be different arrangements with other countries.
