    Default Collector Tool Sale

With the recent musings in other threads on what happens to your tools once we leave this mortal coil, I though it might be worth posting this recent auction in the US. It attracted some serious bidders, collectors and tool traders.
For some serious viewing, be prepared to while away some time. You have been warned!

As an indication of the values here, according to someone over on Woodnet, this saw sold for $2300 US!

    Wow, what a collection.
Just the time taken to group items together for photographs would have taken ages.
Imagine the size of the blokes shed to house all of those items.

I hope the family does well with the auction, it will be interesting to see the prices obtained for these tools.

I'm a bit gobsmacked at the variety of tools, and certainly not anywhere near likely to accumulate anything like that.

I presume that expensive saw was made by Disston.
That 3 cove handle design is pretty neat, might have to have a go at making one!
