Competition - Smallest Spanner That You Own
Here's a competition for everyone.
Here are my two smallest open ended spanners.
Britool 5BA, 7BA, length 64.24mm
Sidchrome 4mm, 5mm, length 82.90mm
Have you got a smaller spanner in your workshop?
Rules -
1 - must be manufactured for general use, ie not home made, or a special "one off" to adjust your microscope or miniature steam loco etc.
2 - must be photograped as shown, on hand, with rule, to avoid "creative photo editing".
3 - "smaller" can be overall length or "opening size"
4 - must be a tool, not a toy eg a tie pin.
cheerio, Mike

Well Steve, if you can post a piccie, I think the prize will be yours until someone else posts a photo of a smaller one!
Also, now when I think back, many years ago Woollies used to sell a miniature set of pressed steel spanners held together with a pin at one end, like a thread pitch guage.
Now I had one of these when I was a kid...hmmm...where is it?

Smallest Spanner
I don't own the spanner to which I refer to in this post, theoreticaly I never owned it at all because it came in a Meccano Set I bought as a gift for my Nephew in Singapore. When my hand luggage was X-rayed at the airport it was confiscated by security. the assumption was that if you took a tool on board an aircraft you might try to disassemble the airplane in mid flight. This occured not long after Sept 11.
Ihave no photo, & definitely NO SPANNER!, it don't count.

This is a set of Sidchrome ignition spanners the smallest I own. The smallest one is 75mm long and the others range up to about 85 to 95mm long.

Here's a set that I previously owned before selling. Very similar to Barry's I think.

Not a spanner, but my son got this screw driver with a toy today. We were supposed to screw in some actual screws with it.

OK - I'll have a go.
10 & 11 BA OE spanners, 12 & 14 BA tube spanners (the 14 BA is 1.8mm AF)
also a 16BA tap but I don't have a spanner for 16 BA bolts!
MarkWhat you say & what people hear are not always the same thing.

Here is my collection, the tap is a #0X80, the micrometer is a rare
Starrett 1/2 inch. The adjustable is a Proto 4 inch. The smallest one
is from a Western Union tool set for repairing late 1800's early 1900's
telegraph equipment. The feeler gauge set is for the old relays the
phone companys used from the late thirties to the mid seventies.
The drill set goes down to .013".
The coin is my life savings.
I know you said "No toys" but I thought it didn't mean me?
I found these in a doll house shop and they were the right
scale for a steam launch model I was working on. I made
the tool tote from 1/64th" plywood.
