    Dane,
Is that a center finder next to the pen?

If it is....what's it doing there?

    Sure no worries..
The first one to the right is a centre finding square (used to find the centre mark of the end of a piece of stock either square or circle) mainly used for work with a lathe.

The one on the far right is a marking gauge, similar in use to the ones found here.....

Sorry Peter yeah it's a centre finder. IT's not the odd one out though.

    OK time for another go.
Is it the marking gauge because it is the only tool with a circular (Blade) working part?

I wonder if it is the only tool that has two simultaneous functions - ie measuring and marking at the same time.

That's right SG! The marking guage is the only tool that measures and marks/cuts stock at the same time, whereas all the others do one of those two. Great one mate, and I'll hand over the reigns to you now.
Might have been a bit hard/silly that one..

    Thanks for the puzzle Dane.
I'll be a little busy until later in the week. I'll post a new one then if you can all wait a couple of days.
    Cheers

    Righteeo, here we go!
One of these bad boys is the oddfellow of the bunch.
I have numbered them just in case you don't recognise them.
Which one is it, and why.
    Have fun,

The veritas edge trimmer because it is the only right hander? The left handed edge trimmer would look more at home with this bunch perhaps??
