    Default Coping Saw Identification

    P1011763.jpg
With all the discussion on frame saws I took a look at my coping saw. I've had it for well over forty years and still reach for it automatically even though I have an Olsen. I've never bothered to see who made it as it did/does the job and I didn't want to embarrass it by asking for its parentage. However, it is made in Australia. The picture doesn't look good but it's the best I can get of the logo. Can anyone place it?
    Cheers,
    Jim

I can't help you but there is a good chance the manufacturer is listed here:

thanks Hiroller, I had a look but I can't work out what the first letter is in the logo - I think the last two are J W.

Here it is Hiroller. Like I said, it's a workhorse and obviously so is the bench. It's not rust on it just years of linseed and sawdust.

In 2004 there was this thread ... https://www.woodworkforums.com/f13/be...ing-saw-11894/

I am waiting for one with a laser beam that won't require any tensioning ... but may well remove several of my fingertips

This would be the perfect 1st project for Mr Rudd, now that he has a bit more time on his hands. He could well become the ultimate " gent " woodworker.

i like the way Bob passed his lightest one on straightaway to a finishing carpenter friend with orders to work it hard. That's the way to test a new design for flaws.
ps liked the product placement of the gas and vinegar.

    Bill,
    there is a precedent..or is that a President ....

He has raised money for charity with his woodwork and art over the years.
