    Default A couple of Titans

Finally a couple of worthy bevel edged Titan competitors for Scribbly's famous "Multi-chisel" proving once and for all that the Multi-chisel was merely a copy of an earlier Victorian Invention...

    DSCN2930.jpgDSCN2931.jpgDSCN2932.jpgDSCN2933.jpgDSCN2935.jpgDSCN2934.jpg

My brother-in-law dropped these off in a box of old tools that belonged to his father. He said, "you like this sort of stuff, so here you go"...

There was also a hatchet with V^R stamped on it, which I take to be Victorian Railways?

    Ray

Ouch! What some blokes will do with a wood chisel - haven't they heard of cold-chisels?!

Still, from the pics, the blades look to be in remarkably good condition, despite the whaling they've copped - couple of new handles and a bit of elbow-grease & they could be ready for a whole new life......

    Cheers,
    IW

Can't agree on the MC label just yet. These little Titan light tang bevel puppies (at least the blades) will clean up great and look beaut with decent Swedish pattern handles. The current placky job is stuffed and has to go. The wooden one (ex registered handle with end ferrule beaten off) has to go too.

As for the hatchet. Obviously it's been buried since Victoria reigned (VR)

It was good of someone taking the time to dip it in paint and help preserve it

Hardly ever come across old chisels that have been properly cared for. Old screwdrivers are usually in better shape. But I think those two will pull through just fine!

Multi-Chisel - now there is a trip down amnesia lane.
Well done Ray, these are two excellent candidates for top billing in the search for Ham Fisted Australia's Got Talent.
While their presentation is good, they need to work harder in the rust and pitting department.
And who could forget good old detachable handle - I still have the scars.
    Thanks for the memories
