Nice job on the barley twists

Isn't it a nice job!
Not Me though .
I got inspired about them last week first by seeing a vintage machine that makes them .
And I did make one Barley Twist as an exercise at trade school years ago and was trying to remember how we did it. So I started researching and found two good demonstrations. There were details I just forgot completely . The wrapped paper ribbon was the one main thing I did remember .
I'd like to do a few pieces using the Jacobean type Barley twist one day . .
Here's the links I liked if your interested.
The picture above came from this one . Barley Twist – Carving by numbers
And this youtube one is very good too . Specially the way a barley twist is laid out in pencil before cutting in PT 1.

If those leads don't work out, Rob, I bought some about 5 years ago from a hospitality supply company. They are used to grate cheese, lemon zest, nutmeg, wasabi, etc.
Mine are branded Microplane and were made in Arkansas, USA. Truly excellent quality.
