I think the 031 actually puts wood back on the work piece.

    Default Bargain Chisels?

This one jumped out at me: HAMLET CRAFT TOOLS BEVEL EDGE WOOD CHISELS 4pc DISPLAY BOX SHEFFIELD ENGLAND | eBay

Why, that starting price is the same as... Hamlet Bevel Edge Chisel Set : CARBA-TEC - what a bargain!

As for the claim that she paid $440 for them... I'm *almost* tempted to ask for proof of that, because even when the Australian dollar was in the toilet, they were never listed that high, were they?

I have 2010 Carba-Tec catalogue. They were certainly $129 then.

and whilr you're at it ask her where the description comes from. it appears to be a direct lift from carbatech's current catalogue spiel

    Blanc-tastique!

Interesting the number of old Australian workbenches I've seen with leg vices. In a similar vein to the English bench as per Chris Schwarz classifications with aprons and tool well in the middle but many have the leg vice with steel screw and parallel guide. I reckon I've seen as many leg vices as Records, Carter, Dawn and Joplin vices. Have seen a few on ebay and in old sheds too. Most seem post WW2. Must've been a very popular magazine article about leg vices that all the ex-diggers had read.

    Well spotted Andreas.

I can see a few of those being made as jokes. The main joke of course is asking $800 for it.

This ebay ad describes the plane as "all in great condition"
Vintage Stanley Wood Plane No 4.

As they say in the classics, It pays to read the fine print and to look at the photos.
Can you spot the tiny flaw?
    Cheers,
    Steck
