ANTIQUE ORIOLE SAW MADE BY BISHOP OVER 100 YEARS OLD | eBay
and
VINTAGE G.H.BISHOP & CO. 26" ORIOLE SAW 8TPI | eBay
And guess who was asleep when the second one ended at 8:30am?
I'm amazed at the variance, when everyone can view all the same info ...

Panel saws are hot right now. When people first rediscovered hand saws they went for full sized saws, now they have 'discovered' panel saws. A few years ago you couldn't give one away. They are very useful around the bench or home workshop, they have a 'cute' factor, and saw guys want something that the guy next door doesn't have. That 20" saw is nice, and it has a strong etch, if it had been a little cleaner and had a Bishop medallion it could have gone for twice that. The other saw is a good user, not really worth what he paid + shipping. The upper horn is broken, the medallion is broken, the etch and blade are not that great, but still a good saw for use. Many of the saws sold on fleabay are bought by tool dealers who want to shine them up a little and resell them, they don't want to do any repairs or part replacements, just clean, shine, and sell. That panel saw was like granny's going to church car to a car dealer.

Multi-speed drill... might work pretty good... mount it sideways and make a lathe!
Toby
P.S. It looks like something I would do just for the heck of it.
