Vintage Mohawk Shelburne Wood Plane,, Made in USA | eBay

I had a look and thought $33 for a plane to muck around with - that's fair. What's all the fuss? Then took a look at the photos. I've never seen a plane like it. I've never tuned one of my old clunkers to that degree.

It took me a while to see it, but look at the mouth you can see the frog where the mouth has fractured away.

Better bargains to be had at $33 IMHO

    Paul

My daughter worked in Iceland for about three months and told me of an Icelandic saying:

    Q. "What do you do if you get lost in an Icelandic forest?"

    A. "Stand up."

The Icelanders will probably be falling over themselves for this one. .

    1. Uri Geller's stage prop.

    2. Early 20th century metal divining screwdriver. Bends out of shape when passed over metal nails or screws embedded in wood. Used before planing to thickness. One use only.

    3. Junk. Listed to raise social standing by proving to mates or girlfriend that eBay buyers will buy anything. Will soon get tired of repeatedly spending listing fee.

I'm tempted to buy it just to get it off eBay but international postage would blow the budget. Also, my wife gets annoyed when I buy "good stuff" on eBay so what would she think when I showed her my latest purchase?
