    Default a Foot tool ?

    Thought this was interesting.

Am aware of treadles and foot powered lathes

This is slightly different - from one of the Yahoo groups I've subscribed to.

I never really considered using my feet like this

Quite an impressive gadget! We tend to forget how much levers can multiply hand (or foot!) power in this era where the hardest work is flicking the switch.

I can see it being used to plane a small surface, in conjunction with a cross-slide vise, or for forming keyways, or hole-punching - what else could it be used for?

    Cheers,
    IW

    Default a Foot tool ?

I can see it being used to efficiently remove fingers

I still have plans to make a treadle lathe, but for some reason a spinning work piece seems less dangerous than a spinning tool.

I know this one doesn't spin, but you know what I mean.

    Cheers,
I was trying to think what metal-working machine this reminded me of, ... until ... duh. A Shaper.

It would certainly do brass by human power, I'm thinking.
