    Default I found this plane at a second hand store

    Im just asking if this is a good pickup for $35 - Bailey No 6 hand plain

    So long as its sole is pretty flat and the blade can be sharpened to take a good edge, that should be a good user.

    $35 from a 2ndhand store is good going.

    There's a lot of rust on the blade, just make sure that the blade that sticks out from under the chip-breaker isn't too corroded to resharpen successfully.

    The rest of it looks good, and if the blade isn't viable it's just an excuse to upgrade it.
    We don't know how lucky we are......

    well i pulled the plane apart, the blade has a lot of pitting where the blade and the chip breaker is exposed at the top, but down the bottom its fairly good need to be sharpend. i put a strate edge along the sole and there seem to be a small drop - hollow at the back of the plane. the paint is good all over, the wood handles need sanding back and re-varnishing. no cracks. over all im happy
