    Default Hand tool set

    Hello all,
I would like to share this one with you all. At work (which is in a museum) we are offered old stuff by people, bits and pieces off farms and out of sheds. We can't take much, for various reasons, one being storage space. But occasionally we jump at something, like the Barnes pedal lathe, and recently this tool set!
A family wanted to keep these tools together, which belonged to the old boy's father, who died in the 1980's. He was a house builder active around here from the 30's, so some of the tools date from then. Basically it constitutes every tool needed to put up a house, from stumps to roofing, but I baulked at housing the shovels and crow bars in this chest.
We built the chest from recycled hardwood, and have fitted it out with removable trays. The family wanted us to keep using the tools, so it will form a large part of our wagon and wheel builds from now on. I have gone through the tools, which are mostly in good condition, and repaired a few, plus sharpened saws and chisels and planes. A couple of them are no longer useable, broken or worn out. Some are real treasures!
This has been a real pleasure to us so hope you enjoy the photos. I will take more shots and talk about particular tools if anyone is interested.

    Cheers
