Help with Re-Assemblind the Blade Adjuster Mechanism on a Stanley 220 Block Plane
Hello Fellow Woodies,
I have a Stanley No220 block plane on which I stripped cleaned & oiled blade adjusting mechanism, upon reassembly the screw rotates freely but the adjuster block does not move on the ramp. I think that I must have assembled in the wrong sequence.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanking You
Gerard

Doesn't that one have a blade with little notches on the bottom? And there's an elongate hole in it so that it can slide forward and back around the screw?
If it's the same one I've seen I think it's just a matter of making sure that the blade notches are down and one of them is engaged with the little slider thing that's driven by the screw, and then rotating that little toggle to lock down the lever cap and it should work.
Photos might help if that doesn't solve the problem.
Cheers,
Luke
