    Ca va bien.

I'll stop there before I am outed as a charlatan. I may have to cease the use of "vieille branche" and stick with "me ol' china plate!"

BTW, welcome to the Forums. Also look out for FenceFurniture's Blue Mountain GTG's. Not sure when the next one is, but I think you would find like minded people there, who generally are ok despite coming from NSW .

    Good with a slight modification.
The wedge wasn't holding the blade so Glen Rundell recommend that I attach it lie Nielsen style.
I glued in a wedge, cut a small amount off level with the froe, drilled a hole and use a 1/2 coach screw with washer to hold the lot together.

I was told elsewhere that it should be fitted more like a pick handle, ie the froe slides down the handle and is held by a bulby bit at the bottom, so it can't slide off.

this could be an option for Mk II

I'll have to see if the timber handle donor leaves his woodshed unattended

I can also recommend the Mora 106 straight knife. It comes super sharp and is great value.
The Mora hook knives are OK but don't come sharp and I think can lose the sharp tips.
Interestingly, Jögge Sundqvist has been engaged to refine their gook knives so they may improve.

The Robin Wood package is good value and they are quick to post. I have an axe and it feels nice in the hand and came sharp.
I also have some Pinewood Forge hook knives that are beautifully made and v sharp but there is a wait list.
    Product categories Spoon Carving Supplies
Both Del Stubbs @ Pinewood and Robin Wood have useful tips on spoons and sharpening.
