    Default I'm in love ...

After wondering what the fuss is with handplanes, I have bought a Lee valley LA Jack Plane. This is my first serious plane and OMG I have been looking to plane wood wherever & whenever I can. It's so therapeutic isn't it ?

Taking a transparent shaving is a new experience

Romantic isn't it. When is it OK for a man to cry? When he sees wood shavings coming off that finely polished blade.

You think that is good? Just wait until you see your first hand cut half blind dovetail fits like a glove. Oh yeah….

I have some way to go skill wise before any of my dovetails "fit like a glove" but O look forward to the journey.

I know what you mean. My LAJ (about three years ago) was an eye-opener. What a great plane

I used a new wood river no5 a few weeks ago. What a difference from my old Stanleys. I am now casting a very critical eye over my old stuff. eBay may be warming up this year...

    Cheers,
