Good one, Gerry. I was hoping you would take that suggestion in the right way, just a bit of fun just before Christmas........ and you have already recruited your No. 1 member!

I am pleased to read so many positive comments on your plane, well deserved.

    Happy Christmas,

    Anthony

I have put together some photos of the way I made the infill plane, the infomation is only the things I did that are not already stated on Peters or other web pages.

1:This is a photo of the mdf template that I made. It shows me were the mouth and the angles of the handle and tote I intend to use. I have left of the dovetail mark out because I am using material that I have left and can mark them out accordingly.
2:This is a photo of the me chiseling out the material prier to filing. I cut these with a hacksaw. Then remove the waste by hand.
3:It took me sometime to work out the angle of my dovetails, in the end I made them the same angle of a Nicholson tri file. I ground one side flat to give me a safety edge. This meant that I could file right in to the corners neatly. this was alos helpful when making the double dovetails.
4:I made spacers out of brass tube that I bought from George Weston and Sons because they will sell brass in small quantities. I tapped these with a 3/16 thread to match the screw I bought from Bunnings. This was very helpful in being able to put the plane together and take it apart.
5:When it came to making the handle I didn't have parern makers bit like others but by using some spacers[not in photo] and putting it in my vice I could frehand route out the shape. Then cleaned up by hand. This is possible because my vice and table are level.
    Warning picture heavy
    Cheers Gerry
