Info oa Stanley Carter Plane No C5
I recently bought a Stanley Plane on ebay and I'm trying to find some info on it. It has the name Carter embossed on the front of it and the number C5 on the back. Does anyone know any history on this particular plane. I have searched high and low online and cant find anything on it. I'v included a couple of pics below.
Cheers Ben.

Ben,
Carter is the brand - it was not made by Stanley. If I remember correctly, Carter was an Australian company, started around WWII when importing tools was hard to do.
Yep, found it - they were Aussie made. The Hand Tool Preservation Association of Australia has a page about Carter at http://www.htpaa.org.au/carter.phpThe Australian Woodworkers Database - over 3,500 Aussie Woods listed: http://www.aussiewoods.info/
