Strewth, it was only after I found a good pic of a Preston 1347 at this site that I realised just how much Matt's little plane has suffered. Its own mother might have extreme difficulty in recognising it!

No, I think we'll have to try very hard to beat that!

Those two divots out of the side walls on your first pic, Vann - I've seen a few of these, presumably because some clown decided it was too far to walk to get a proper hammer, and used his 4 1/2 instead. Most abusers quit after smashing one side, but our brave boyo must've decided to make his plane symmetrical again....

You could clean it up a bit, sharpen the blade, & flog it as a "4 1/2 Lite".....
