Default Kincrome vernier calipers any good?

Well, after years of faithful service, I dropped my old Mitsui Vernier Calipers on the concrete, damaging the points for the measurement of inside distances.

Looking around, I see Kincrome vernier calipers are selling for about $60. ( non-digital, which I prefer).

Can anyone please advise if these are any good?
    regards,

i have a cheap ebay set costed around $30 and have checked it against my mitutoyo pair on numerous occasions and its within 0.01mm. I suspect the Kincrome pair will be of similar specifications.

Most of the low priced (including Kingchrome) digital callipers are all the same.
What size are you looking at?

I have 6 working pairs and they range from $35 for a 6" from H&F (currently $29 on sale) [see B in photo] which I really like as it auto converts mm and " to 64ths of inch so good for checking imperial drill bit sizes and bolts sizes, throughout to a 12" set [See D in Photo] I use for metal work.

Recently I bought a pair of these (A and D in photo) on ebay - I like them because while it makes them a bit heavier the bodies are all metal so no plastic and therefore more robust .
    The 6" were only $19

    While the 12" (D in Photo)was only $44!
I have checked all these against a high quality and very expensive set I borrowed from work and they are all within spec.

Thanks for this, BobL, I really appreciate it, especially with you going to all the trouble of marking up the photo. I subsequently ordered a 6" and 8"on the eBay site you provided, based on your experience with the calibration.

The photo was marked up for the testing against the units from work that I posted on the MW thread.

    Default Calipers still available

I bought another couple of the 150mm stainless calipers ( 'A' in the pic) today from the same site. $19 each.
The previous one was accidentally broken, but was still going strong 3 years after buying. I tested it against a calibrated test piece 3" long with NATA certificate, and it was spot on. Trouble was finding the correct ambient temperature for testing
The site is still going strong
    Thanks for the recommendation Bob

Given my sight problem verniers have become a problem and I can't be bothered with batteries so I bought a dial caliper from ebay. I've not done an exhaustive calibration but it seems accurate. 2c..
