Default major haul of rusty treasure today

hit a great garage sale today & scrounged up this lot , it's the most chisels I've got in one day close to 30 & there's some nice ones in the pile - more titans for the collection - two berg's one's a minta looks like it's hardly used - nice big ward & a very nice ohio tool co socket chisel made pre 1920s.
other goodies were a drawknife unable to make out the brand - a big sandvikens jernverks rip hand saw in great nic - some dawn sash clamps & a senco nail gun + so much more.
spent all arvo cleaning & sorting the keepers from the pile, also picked up some nice 150 x 40 merbau timber for a project I'm looking to start.
this lot tips me over the 100 chisel mark so now I can call myself a hardcore collector .

Scrounger, I admit to a twinge of envy at your haul of what looks like quite a few excellent chisels, but it's tempered by the thought that I don't have to put all the work into cleaning them up!

    Well caught, tho..
    Cheers

I love the rust it gives me pleasure to unmask a nice looking tool from under the crud, this sale was a big one & this lot would be only 1/10 of what was there plus the pro pickers got in a few days earlier & got the cream of it leaving me the crumbs.

Who are these pro pickers Scrounger?? How did they get in early? What did they score? What do they do with their stuff? Why did they not take those four good Titans?

that's a lot of questions Doggie the pro's are the guys that make a living off g/sales , d/estates & auctions - they ring up & get in early to view/ bulk buy & most times get the best stuff, having g/sale'd for a little while you get to know the pro's & semi pro's, as to how they resell - markets / ebay / antique stores / auction / gumtree & specialty sales, I know this sale was hit early & a bunch of stuff was sold as I sometimes ask the sellers at the sale just for interest sake, at some sales I have heard tales of blokes carting trailers of old tools/goodies away before sale day & unsure why they missed the titans maybe they only like Marple's , I don't think I'd like to do it as it's a tough gig & there welcome to the cream as long as I get a few crumb's every now & then - I'm happy as it's just a hobby for me & most of my house/shed is fitted out with g/sale finds.

The pros also come in early and offer to take what's left at the end of the sale for a pittance.
