    Matt

If Sally gets her way, you must do your best not to be a sore loser .

I suppose you could restore the face side and she could retain the mural side. In the settlement you could agree to turn them around on the wall week in week out .

There was an article in one of the US wood magazines(?) some years ago from a bloke who went 'antique' shopping, he turned up a 'panther head' saw in good condition for not much $$$- apparently very rare and worth considerable $$$$ - but it had been painted by a 'naïve style' artist and he was conflicted over whether to strip the paint and restore the saw to reap a huge profit, or leave it as is and show it to visitors as an example of what not to do.

Listen to your wife. Oh, and cheerfully add a wall space above your tools to hang and display items your wife has picked. The up side is that you and your wife can share a hobby. The bonus is that you will be allowed to buy more tools. Been there done that!

Forgive them for they know not what they do.

Dave, you realise there's no power cord or battery with them.

How did they use them before they became art?

Meh. Live and let live I say.

So called saw art is generally not much to my taste. Too many random flowers and badly painted ye olde colonial times scenes. Or clash culture stuff drawn be mediocre tattooists.

I do see a lot of it on farms in South Eastern Victoria (Australia) though; and at least those examples are almost always on saws which for one reason or another are no longer in the frame as user tools.

In rural regions there are a vast number of old saws. Most of them of zero interest to people in this forum.

We just have to keep our wits about us and get hold of the gooduns first.
