Merv was the first that came to mind, then I thought of Boonie. I thought it had to be Warnie after the 'diet pill' debacle though

I use both metric and imperial.
I mainly use imperial measurements as a checking facility to large metric measurements that I make.
On building sites you still hear impearial measurement being called out though.
One of my old bosses had a buying bonanza when he thought the imperial rulers were going to be phased out and probably bought 50 rulers at the time. He's still got most of them and forgot the yanks were not changing over.

How many Rodneys in the jar?

This is the economy size container. It holds a six or over of a Rodney: ie, the second half.
MFKL has been seen in larger containers, suitable for sports club changing rooms and holding 3 bloody huge Rodneys, aka a shitload. Small sample packs - containing a poofteenth - are apparently also produced.

Of course the stubbie is a useful measure of travel time as well.... years ago, Brisbane to the Gold Coast used to be a relaxed three stubbie trip, but with the new eight lane highway there's barely time to get through one.

When I'm drinking stubbies at a BBQ or a party, I put the bottle caps in my pocket. That way I can keep track of how many I've had. The next morning, I can empty my pockets and discover why my head feels the way it does. Over the years, I have come to rate my hangovers in terms of the number of caps in my pocket:
3 Caps - Why did you bother?
6 Caps - No discernible sign of symptoms but I hope you didn't drive
8 Caps - Slight headache, need to eat something greasy
12 Caps - Vision still blurred, feel a bit queasy, what did I do last night?
16 Caps - I don't want to live, where are my trousers, where did all those witches hats come from?
So I would like to put forth the 'cap' as a measure of hangover symptoms."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

Whilst I work entirely in Metric as I can't seem to fathom (bad pun) some of the conversions especially BTU's, Ft/s2 and other factors where both terms need recalculation, there are other measurements which I can't upgrade to metric.
As a SCUBA diver, 1 atmos. is 33 feet and I can virtually recite verbatim my non-decom limits for each 10 feet of depth (the old 60ft @ 60 minutes US navy schedule). My tank still uses a PSI gauge which has a red limit of 600 PSI and a max of 4000. Yes I do use a dive computer - Decor proffessional - imported from the States and its wired in feet and PSI. I use the computer to its limits but I can back check the unit to ensure my safety and if it fails, I know what needs to be done.
For me to relearn these tables would not only be a nightmare and a continuous recalculation in the head but also be dangerous.

He joined in August 2003 therefore 1 silent = 10 months, which is Metric.

Bugger, that slipped by unnoticed. I would have marked the occasion with something profound or poignant if I'd realised. But then, why start any new habits?
Makes you wonder how I get any work done..."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."
