I found where we discussed this previously.
BMT Patent saw teeth
Almost 5 years ago. How time flies. Similar participants. Doesn’t say much for the collective memory.
However, this time we do have examples. Along with the one in the opening post, there is another currently on eBay.

I do think the TFWW Saw is closer to this patent than the Disston and Atkins versions.
Not convinced of the value.

Hmmmm.
At least we are consistent, albeit a trifle forgetful.
The gullets give the impression of positive rake, which neve happens on a hand saw. However I think this is an optical illusion. I think the first tooth after each gullet acts as a raker

Ahemm.
When in doubt, read the instructions! The tooth is indeed a "clearing" tooth according to the patent. Also that tooth is relieved towards the back of the tooth.

I thought it was perfectly reasonable, just figured it was due to the binding (squeak). We could both be wrong - that's the risk of saying anything
The squeak I heard could just be the noise of the pain on the side of the saw (always hated saws that have paint on them sticking up above the plate - if that was a good idea, they'd have done it with the old saws, but they put a recessed etch on them for a reason).
It's a strange saw for them to reproduce, but they could very well have received requests for a "good combo saw" for a job site.
The cheap plastic large coarse japanese tooth type saws that they sell here (some stanley brand, some others) are awfully good for everything but ripping. Even for ripping, though, they're OK for cutting a tenon like in that video.
And they're even good to cut branches off of trees if the teeth are big enough (all for the princely sum of about $15 US).
