Default New Veritas Saws

I have been using my Veritas Dovetail saw for small cross cut tasks and it works fairly nicely (apart from being a little difficult to start). So I was thinking about getting another and filing it to crosscut. Then I read on Christopher Schwarz's blog
that LV have produced a small cross cut version and a finer TPI dovetail version.

I couldn't find it on the LV site - I presume that these are pre-production versions being "market tested" at the Woodworking in America show? Anyone heard any more news? Surely Derek Cohen has been secretly testing one already?

Hi Dion -

Saws are just starting to come onstream now...should be available over the next 6 weeks. Best put the screws to Carbatec about an Australian supply....

Derek wasn't a tester on these (as far as I know) - we actually asked a fellow who wasn't really keen on the design of the first one (when initially released) to be a tester on the next two....

Cheers -

Rob

Rob

That has to be the quickest and most accurate reply to a question I've ever asked on the forum! Thanks for taking the time to browse this site and see what your customers are talking about.

Hi -

Fan or no fan - doesn't matter.... he writes well, thinks analytically, and gives his honest impressions.... just what anyone would want.

It's important to listen.... and most important to listen to views that are different...

Rob, if you are still lurking - I had a look at your new surface vise earlier. Did anyone consider using a lever action to clamp with?

(sorry for the hijack folks)

Hmm -

Production of project #800 is running along nicely... only thing missing is the box!! USD retail has been set at $29.50... which is spectacular for a plane....

Project #840 is also on track... running right now...

We're considering offering the pair for 1 week at savings of $10, which would make the pair $39 USD....

That enough info??

Cheers -
