I use the BBQ, cylinder heads don't fit in the oven.

    Goodvibes,

I feel sorry for you, and can understand your frustration with your partners lack of understanding.

Some of the problems that I face here are just as frustrating.

I like to burn a bit of incense now and then, (brings back youthful memories) but this has been banned
indoors for years now, but it's okay for me to put up with the smell of those girly, sissy scented candles.

So my incense burning takes place in the shed, which is fine with me.

The other objection is boot polish, if I polish my boots with a bit of kiwi or nugget
they are not allowed inside until the wax is dry and the smell has faded.

But these types of things are too trivial to waste time on, there are better things in
the shed that offer much more satisfaction than winning an argument about
    whose pong is better.

I guess it just comes down to having a spouse that has an attitude congruent with your objectives. Mine was fine with me holding a dozen just-quenched hammer heads at 450 oF in the kitchen oven to prevent them cracking.

Would you be pleased if you came home.
To find the workshop "organised" cleaned smelling of glen 20.
All the sharp edges made blunt because there dangerous.
And all that junk wood put in the bin all the old cans of stuff half full thrown out.
And all your saws painted with country scenes on them in oil paint.

It's just all a matter of perspective lol

Good of her to be concerned that food odours might contaminate the plane. That was what she was worried about, right

That's why I bought a cheap little oven from Big W for $ 70.00 for my workshop to cook of and harden resin pours.

A lot simpler then having marital arguments and no contamination or strong odours with my food.

I don't think that is a good idea. If she doesn't like goodvibes using the oven in the house for curing important things, I don't think she will be receptive to going into the shed to cook.

No I agree with Paul !!!!
First your cooking in the shed, next she suggests hot water plumbed to the shed and a sink.
Then your out looking at a single bed for the shed.
Finally your required to submit in writing with reasons outlined.
Why you would like to comeback into the house for 15 min on said date.
Just don't get an oven it will go down hill quickly.

    Cheers Matt

Matt, I guess you didn't notice the sink in my workshop or the fridge under the work bench yesterday?

The sink is great for cleaning paintbrushes or getting water for the wet-grinder and the fridge for coldies in summer.

do you have to turn to oven down to 180° after 20 minutes for planes?

reminds me that my 1st missus would let me clean the socket set, spanners etc in the dishwasher! I haven't run this idea past the current wife ...

    That should read wouldn't!

on second thoughts the chemicals used in dishwashers would probably wreck the Sidchromes!

I did wonder why you called it a day with No.1. Examples that are prepared to "take their turn with an oily rag" are hard to come by.

You think that is mysterious. I still don't understand why dear wife starts every story with: "You haven't been listening to anything I said"....
