Pipe Clamps
I have been looking for some pipe clamps for a while but have been deterred by the quality and smooth running of the threads on some of the cheaper products.
I have though found some old second hand clamps (Paucall, Pauhall, or something like that). The only problem is that the non threaded end is a half round indexed stop mechanism, attached with a spring rather than the preffered "clutch type as typical on pony clamps. Some of the indexes are a little worn but I figuire that I can re-ground them with a file.
Does anyone have any experience with these clamps, positive/negative....
much appreciated,
Tony

Some days they're good some days they arn't worth the hassle... But still I persist with about 30 of them and only 2 sash clamps, so go figure....

I have a pair of paulcall pipe clamps I baught second hand at a garrage sale
they used to slipp like all get out till i sharpened the teeth on the little camms.
cant remember if I took the cams out of the foot or not.
verry carefull touch on a very fine grinder wheel. they should be hardened.
I find the need to be seated by pushing on the little lever and then they bight fine
they do move a little as they bight.
I am using normal gal pipe, I have heard that they bight better on black pipe.
The original pipe in them was a bit dagged, the new replacement is much better.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
