Purchase of Erik Anton Berg plane?
Hi all!
I’m thinking of buying an Erik Anton Berg plane, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price. How much would you give for it? The seller wants 70 dol for it, if I include shipping it runs to 100 dol... I have asked for more photos of the blade and will post when I get them.
Any replies are appreciated!!

Way, WAY over the top for a 'user', Andeas!
If it were in pristine condition, perhaps you could justify something near that price, but this thing looks decidedly dodgy in the photo you attached. There is something odd about the blade arrangement, for starters -what is that bit of metal under the blade doing? The wedge doesn't look like an original, & the mouth is big enough to drive a truck through, indicating the sole is well worn, & it probably needs re-soling.
You would be far beter off buying yourself a new blade & making your own!
My 2c,
Cheers,IW

This type of thing is a dime a dozen and the only reason that he wants $70 for it is the Berg name.
Try trademe.co.nz even with shipping to Australia it would be cheaper. Happy to have them shipped here and then forward them to you if need be

Thanks for the replies!
Won’t be buying this one then! I thought it was a bit expensive, I have only e bay to compare prices and it seems that the berg stuff there is a bit overpriced.
Again thanks!
