Wood Rebate Plane ?
Hi All
Got given this Wood Rebate Plane with an adjustable mouth that works in good condition. I cant read the Transfer or maker mark it may be Dundee or Arundel I dont want to scrape the transfer off the metal badge to read it. Has anyone seen this before and can identify it also Value?
Cheers

Hi Andrew,
this looks like a Johann Weiss trademark (famous Austrian maker):

That's an excellent website, many thanks. European tools show up here quite rarely (plenty of British tools though ) and it's nice to have a online reference. And the English text on the same page (as here) is greatly appreciated.
Must do more about learning to understand the German language than just listening to Rammstein.....

More thread-drift.......
Just doing a Spring-clean (literally) of my gardening tools, sharpening the secateurs etc.
I decided to clean up some hedgeclippers that I'd been ignoring and found that they were Freund brand from West Germany. Cleaned the rust (light) off with some 400grit paper and oil and the edge came up as sharp as a knife. Excellent steel. Sadly it seems they no longer make gardening tools, still in business though.
