Record and Stanley planes. ID, value, interested buyers?
Hi guys,
I’ve been given a couple of planes and am looking at holding onto one Record and one Stanley, and moving on the other two.
Can anyone give me any insight into the worth of these? And is anyone interested in taking them off my hands?
2 x Record No5
1 x Stanley No4
1 x Stanley No4.5

I don't need any more planes at the moment (did I just say that? Note to slap myself later) but all four appear to be post war. Usually not the best quality. The Stanleys aren't worth much, maybe $10 -$20 each. I would sell both on ebay and buy a better quality older one with the proceeds.I don't know much about records but they appear to be better quality than the Stanleys. Probably worth a bit more than the Stanleys. They look like school planes so may have had a hard life.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

I'd be interested in one of the Stanley's. I have a 5 from the same time by the looks of them and it's fine. Which one do you want to get rid of? I am probably stupid to say so but I reckon you could get more than $20 for them, not a lot more but might be worth a try. Are you in the eastern or western suburbs etc of the Melbourne area?

I’d be happy to move them all on... so if you’re interested, let me know and I can send you some specific photos of the one(s) you’re interested in.
I’m in Melbourne south east. Down Frankston way.

Is good :)
I'm less than an hour away from Frankston so I could come have a look if it's cool. I will have a bit of crazy week this week. I will know tomorrow when I'm doing what, so if I PM you in the evening maybe we can sort something out? (If I don't it's because the dentist appointment tomorrow arvo was not fun and will do so on Tuesday) Thanks
