Default Replacing a blade in a combination square?

Hi all, is there a technique or trick to replacing the blade back into the square channel on a combination square? I took the blade out to clean it from surface rust and cannot get the blasted thing back in! In anticipation thanking you kindly.

Pull the tightening bolt out, you'll see it has a flat with a notch, in good light you can

look down the channel to line it up.Feed it in gently, like picking a lock

Wot PP says. On mine, you can look down from the top and see that the key that engages the slot in the blade is in approximately the right spot. I leave a tiny bit of spring pressure on, & press the locking bolt up with one finger to line up the key. It also helps if you twist the key slightly to allow the blade to engage it more easily as you slide it into the stock. It's a knack quickly learned, once you cotton onto it....

    Cheers,
