Default Who would have thought rust would be the new gold

I, to waste time, peruse marketplace and see some real wild ads...

The pics are of items for sale at the moment. The first two the sellers are demanding over 200 for the router and record vise. The other the guy wants over 100... I have a few planes I want to move on... I think I'll throw them in the ocean first. Should be able to double my price!!!

What one asks and what one gets are two different questions.

I have observed many people want to keep their stuff, not sell it.

    Thus is life.

LOL. I'm a bit like that. Still have lots to part with but... The books, so far, have been the hardest.

People (me) often start with a high price because they're unsure of the value and then let the item meet the market. My experience is mostly people are happy when they've haggled a lower price and occasionally I get the higher price and all parties are happy. It's hard to demand a price on discretionary items, it's not like they're selling a litre of milk or petrol.

The eBay droppings thread needs to be revived. I've seen similar ads, some of the best are where they're listed as 'in good condition' and it looks like the box of saws or chisels has been left out in the rain and sun for the last year or two or ten.

It's an antique! No mate, it's a piece of that's even ier now.
