    Default Shooting board

    G'day guyz n girlz

Looking for some details about shooting boards. Thinking about making a tilting one for the back edge of my workbench. Any pointers or urls you can send me to?

Have searched the forum / web and didnt come up with much - is there another name for them?

    Cheers

I vaguely recall that Derek posted a fair bit of info about the one he made.

Have a look in the tools and jigs forum, I think that's where it was.

    Actually, here it is

Below is a link to a ramped shooting board. I have made one based on this design and was pleased with the results. The design does limit the iwth of board that can be planed though. I stretched to original design a bit

    Hope this helps.

Thanks craig. I have stayed away from that thread because it confused me. Hopefully I can work it out after my first post there though.

John, you're a champ. I wasnt aware of that spelling but it doesnt drag much more info up either does it.

Looks like the board might work better if you could get at it from different angles so perhaps being built into a bench isnt so great an idea. Well, I'll keep looking for ideas.

    Thanks again chaps.
